The other day as I was leaving for work, I noticed a small package on my porch. Much to my surprise it actually wasn’t car parts for my husband for once– it was for me! I picked it up, threw it on my passenger seat, and headed off down the mountain with the idea of opening my happy mail on my lunch break. Well, of course I was running late for work, so as luck would have it I would hit traffic. I have to tell you, this time I didn’t quite mind because I had enough time to open my package and inspect all my goodies while I sat there. I did get some weird looks from fellow commuters sitting in traffic sniffing candles, but whatever.
My package this week is from One Fur All. They make candles, car fresheners, and wax melts specifically for pet-loving homes. I had only just recently heard of this company so I was very intrigued, and jumped at the chance to be able to try their products to see exactly what it is that sets them apart from other big-name brands. I have a cat and two 70 lb Lab mixes who are sometimes just as stinky as they are adorable. If you have pets– you already know the struggle of trying to stay ahead of pet odors.
I received one of each product they offer currently, all in different scents. The packaging is just adorable, let’s get that fact out of the way first. The jar candle has a nice decorative label on it. It’s not overly flashy, so it’ll go nicely in a centerpiece or by itself on your mantle. The jars are reusable, and on their website they have a photo of some ideas of different things you can use the jar for. The mini candle isn’t as fancy as the other items as far as packaging but it’s more of an over-sized tea light candle so it’s really more something I’d put into a decorative holder. The wax melts? AHHHHH-DORABLE! They’re shaped like a paw print! It is so stinkin’ cute that I almost felt bad breaking a piece off to use it.
The candles contain a pet odor neutralizer, are formulated to freshen your pet-loving home, and are also infused with essential oils. They’re made with 100% natural, dye-free soy wax. Dye-free soy is exciting. If you’re not sure why– let me just tell you. Natural soy candles burn amazing and don’t leave that gross black soot residue. The dye-free part excites me too. I had a dyed wax melt in my nightlight warmer in my downstairs bathroom, and one of the dogs bumped it and wax went everywhere– so now I have a red streak going down my wall. The wax is gone, but the dye that was in the wax stuck around and stained the wall.
These products smell amazing. I’m absolutely loving them. Even my husband who is particular about scents likes them all– and he’s a hard one to win over. The car freshener I got is the Vanilla Creme Brulee scent, which from what I can smell through the plastic smells really good. I’d be using it right now but I literally just put a new freshener in my car last week so I’m going to hold off until that one dissipates so I can enjoy this sent without it being mixed. The mini candle is in their Candy Cane scent. It has a slight hint of vanilla to it so it’s like a sweet minty scent that kind of reminds me of an Andes mint or sort of like a York Peppermint Patty.
The wax melt I got in their Sugared Cranberries scent. It smells so good. I’m actually using it right now in my bedroom because that’s the room that seems to fall most victim to the dog stink. I just used one of the smaller pieces of the paw, so I really didn’t use much of it and it’ll end up lasting me forever because I’m on day 3 of this small piece and it smells just as strong and as good as day 1 when I put it in. I do have a quite large bedroom and an open floor plan for the downstairs and if my bedroom door is open you can smell it downstairs. It’s very effective and I’m actually pretty darn impressed at the longevity of such a small piece. You’re definitely going to want to get a butter knife and cut the bigger paw pad into smaller pieces because you really do not need a big piece. They really weren’t kidding when they said their products were long-lasting. Other wax melts I have used in the past I am adding another cube into the warmer every day just to get the scent back. Also, I don’t know if this is just in my head because I’ve never used a wax melt with essential oils in it or if it’s crazy science– but I seriously feel like I’ve gotten a better night’s sleep the last 2-3 nights since I’ve had this in the warmer. I don’t know for sure– try it and let me know what your results are. The scent just relaxes me.
Now the biggest surprise for me I saved for last. I am going to be completely and brutally honest with you. When I was opening the box, and I pulled out the main 8.5 oz candle and read the label and saw that they sent me Evergreen Forest– I was sad. I never go for the evergreen/pine scents. Every one that I have ever come across I’ve hated. Guys…. I love this one!!!! I was so SHOCKED at how good it actually smelled. It’s like that first few days that you bring your Christmas tree home and get it set up in the stand and your house just smells all cozy and Christmas-y. I absolutely love it, and my husband even said it smells really good. I cannot wait until a little bit later in the holiday season so that I can have this burning every day. It’s just perfect and I have no clue what magic they put into this scent but this is the first winter scent I have ever liked. It blows all the other ones I’ve ever smelled right out of the water (and I almost married into a family that owns a pretty well-known candle company– so trust me when I say that I have a bit of experience with sniffin’ candles)!!
So it is still early enough for you to add these to your holiday shopping lists for your friends, family, or for yourself. They’re great quality, and they’re affordable. If that’s not enough– the product is made in the US, and part of their mission is to help support non-profit, no-kill rescue groups across the US so you can feel even better when you gift these!
