I am absolutely in love with the prints that Buttons Diapers has available for purchase. They’re trendy and modern.
They sent me a little care package that included a very large amount of inserts which I found extremely generous. I also did my research as to why there may be so many inserts in comparison to “covers”. Then I realized the difference between Buttons Diapers and other cloth diaper brands. You see, most cloth diaper brands make you put the inserts between a layer of the cover. This way, there’s a part of the cover that gets soiled when in use. With Buttons Diapers, you clip on the insert on top of the cover, so unless your child urinates like Niagara Falls (ha ha) you’ll always have a clean cover, and you can just transfer in a new liner. Essentially reusing the cover until it is dirty.
Can you tell how much this excites me? Cloth diapers aren’t cheap – I won’t lie. Especially ones that are made from work at home mom (and pop) shops. Liners are a fraction of the price as most “pocket diapers” as I mentioned above, so the fact you can reuse the diaper, with Buttons Diapers, and just purchase extra liners, is incredible. Very smart and cost effective.
This is a technique reminding me of pre-folds and covers. But that’s another story.
